The Academy for the Arts (AFTA) offers music lessons in Asheville, NC

Private and group lessons are available for voice, piano, organ, percussion, violin, viola, cello, bass, harp, flute, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, and Old Time Bluegrass and Early Swing instruments such as fiddle, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, guitar, and bass.

AFTA celebrates a high standard of excellence within our teaching staff. All our instructors hold at least one degree, and most of them multiple degrees in music from an accredited university/conservatory, or have equitable expertise in their genre.

Academy for the Arts Recitals This Week

Crocker AuditoriumThursday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m in Crocker Auditorium, you are invited to the recital for students from the cello studio of Frances Duff, and the violin studio of Karen Pommerich.

Also on Thursday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. in Crouch Chapel will be the recital for winds, voice, and percussion students from the studios of David Bruce, Michael Hosford, Frank Southecorvo, Clark Sorrells, Kate Steinbeck/Bradford Malbon, and Hillary Trumpler.

We invite you to hear these very talented students, and to join us at a reception afterward.

Tuesday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m. in Crouch Chapel will be the recital for students from the studios of Josh Goforth and Jerry Sutton.
