The Academy for the Arts at First Baptist Church of Asheville seeks to empower students of all ages and backgrounds in reaching their greatest potential both as artists and as human beings. Believing that artistic inspiration and talents are gifts which need to be shared in order to be fully realized; we offer regular and exciting opportunities for individual and group music lessons.
Private instruction for all ages is offered in the form of 30-minute lessons, 45-minute lessons, or 60-minute lessons for a full semester or year in the disciplines below. For information on all disciplines and instructors, click here.
Group music lessons are currently offered in guitar, ukulele, fiddle, and dulcimer. Other groups formed upon availability and request. To request the formation of a group, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
This experience is designed to prepare students for honor ensemble (All-County or All-State Band/Orchestra, Honor Choir, etc.) or school/community musical theatre auditions. It includes four 30-minute or 60-minute private lessons in four consecutive weeks. No Program Fee required, but payment in full is required at time of registration.
Chamber Ensembles are offered at AFTA! Ensembles include strings, winds, brass, percussion and more. Join us in October and November for the first 8 week session. Included are weekly coaching sessions with AFTA instructors, free rehearsal space at AFTA, and opportunities for recitals. For more details, click here.
